Accessibility

Smartypes aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and has not been independently audited against them. Text colors are checked against AA contrast ratios in every theme. The site is designed to work from the keyboard, to show where focus is, to let you increase text size in Settings, and to reduce animation when your device asks for it. In September 2026 keyboard use, visible focus, page structure (headings, landmarks and labels), and layout at narrow widths and large text were checked by hand in one desktop browser, and the problems found were fixed. No outside reviewer has tested the site, and no screen reader has been used to test it yet. Typing practice itself is visual by nature; screen reader users hear the text to type and each result. If something is hard to use, please say so on the feedback page and choose "Accessibility". Accessibility feedback is welcome and is used to decide what to fix first.
